Scientists in Reproductive Technologies (SIRT) is a professional group representing the scientific membership of The Fertility Society of Australia. As such it is bound by the constitution of The Fertility Society of Australia.

SIRT History

SIRT was founded in the early 1990’s to promote professional excellence amongst the scientists working in the field of assisted reproduction and fertility. SIRT now has in excess of 500 members.

SIRT Mission

In addition to the objectives of The Fertility Society of Australia, SIRT’s role is to promote the education and training of scientists working in reproductive technologies and to promote high standards within the profession, in particular through the promotion of research and dissemination of scientific information within the membership.

SIRT aims to act as a resource for formulating a consensus on scientific issues and guidelines for best scientific practice within The Fertility Society of Australia and other professional bodies.

SIRT Membership

Full Membership is open to any person who is currently engaged in scientific (non-clinical) activities associated with the field of human reproduction and requires a person be nominated and seconded by a current financial member of SIRT.

Benefits of SIRT Membership

SIRT Membership Fees

  • Full Membership costs $75 per annum.

  • Renewing Members (prior to 30th March) costs $55 per annum.

  • Renewing Members (on or after 1st April) costs $75 per annum.

  • Student / Concessional Membership costs $37.50 per annum.

Student / Concessional Membership is open to any person engaged in scientific activities associated with the field of human reproduction currently enrolled in a tertiary institution as a full-time student in the field of reproductive biology or other science-related degrees. This information must be verified by the Head of the Department. Student / Concessional Membership requires a person to be nominated and seconded by a current financial member of SIRT.

  • Associate Membership costs $82.50 per annum

Associate membership is open to any persons and/or organizations that have an interest in, and support the aims and objectives of, SIRT. The SIRT website has been designed to be a one-stop-shop for members to gain access to content and information. Below is a summary of the content available.
News and events: Keep up to date with news articles and stay informed about relevant upcoming scientific meetings in Australia, New Zealand and around the world. Members-only area: SIRT now has an area available to current members where you can download content like the SIRT Quarterly, view current Job Ads, and interact with other SIRT members via the SIRT forums.
Access to the member’s area is blocked by a login and can only be viewed by current members. Over the next 48 hour,s a separate email will be sent to you with your username and a temporary password. These will work for both the SIRT website and the forums. If you don’t have a personal email address registered with the FSA (i.e. The email you have registered like admin@ivfcompany.com.au) then for security reasons we are unable to give your login until you register your own email address with the FSA.
