Abstracts and Presentations

 

Abstracts are invited to be submitted for the Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) 2026 Annual Conference. 

On behalf of the Scientific Program Committee, we thank you for your consideration in submitting an abstract and please take the time to review these guidelines prior to submission. 

 

 

Conference Theme:

ART Regulation Innovation & Trust in Fertility Care

Bridging Science, Policy and Ethics for our Reproductive Future

 

During the submission process you will be asked to nominate one of the following themes that you would like your presentation to be considered for:

  • Clinical

  • Embryology/Andrology

  • Nursing

  • Psychosocial

  • Scientific

 

Registration

If you wish to submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Program Committee, you must intend to register to attend the Conference. 

Acceptance or otherwise is at the discretion of the Scientific Program Committee; notification will be sent to the presenting author by Monday 01 June 2026.  The invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to pay travel, accommodation or registration costs associated with the Conference. Similarly, no presenter fee is paid to successful participants.

Please note that all presenters (Free Communication and Poster) must register for the Conference and pay the appropriate registration fee by Friday 12 June 2026. It will be assumed any presenter not registered by this date has withdrawn their abstract from the program.

Presentation Types

Free Communication Oral Presentations

Successful oral presenters will be allocated a presentation slot on Sunday 9 or Monday 10 August 2026.  Presentations are limited to a total of 15 minutes each: 10-12 minutes with 3-5 minutes permitted for questions from the audience.  Submissions not selected for Oral Presentation may be offered a Poster presentation.

Poster Presentations

All Poster presentations will be prominently displayed in the Conference venue. Full instructions on the format and display of Poster will be detailed within acceptance notifications and sent to the nominated presenting authors.  A poster presentation session will be held on Sunday 9 August 2026 (early evening) and authors are expected to attend.

 

Notification to Authors

All abstracts submitted will be reviewed by a panel consisting of members of the Scientific Program Committee.  Acceptance of an abstract will be based on relative merit and the degree to which the abstract meets the aims of the program. 

Notification to Authors will be communicated by Monday 4 June 2026. Please note the details provided as the author contact should be for the nominated main contact of your abstract. All correspondence relating to the submission will be directed to this person, and they should in turn distribute to all co-presenters.

 

 

 

FSANZ Awards

 

The following awards will be made within these categories:

  • Best Scientific Paper
  • Best Clincial Paper (Geoff Driscoll Medal)
  • Best Paper by a Nurse
  • Best Paper by a Counsellor
  • Best Poster (all categories)

 

Please note that you must be a current financial member of the FSANZ to be eligible for consideration for an award. If you are unsure of your membership status, please contact the FSANZ Conference Team (fsanzconference@fertilitysociety.com.au) for clarification.

Recipients of each award will be announced on Monday 10 August as part of the Conference Dinner.  If you wish to be considered in any of the above award categories, you will be asked to do so during the submission process. 

 

General Information

  • All abstracts must be lodged electronically via the abstract submission portal with a valid email address.
  • All abstracts must be prepared according to the guidelines provided. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will be returned to the author and must be re-submitted immediately in the correct format to be considered for inclusion in the program.
  • All fields on the online abstract submission form must be complete, you will not be able to submit an abstract through the portal until all areas are completed.
  • Abstracts that do not include results or state that “results pending” may be subject to rejection.
  • You will be able to access the abstract portal account to make changes, edit or replace your existing submissions until 5.00pm AEST Friday 26 March 2026. After this date, abstracts will be published exactly as they are submitted; there will be no opportunity for amendments from the close of abstracts.
  • The submitting author should also be the presenting author, and the submitting author will be the designated contact person and will receive all relevant correspondence. 
  • Submission of your abstract/s implies you have read, understood, and comply with the Terms and Conditions as outlined in the abstract portal.
  • All presenters (Oral and Poster) must register for the conference and pay the appropriate registration fee by Friday 12 June 2026.  It will be assumed any presenter not registered by this date has withdrawn their abstract from the program. 
  • FSANZ and the Scientific Program Committee reserves the right to accept or refuse any abstract, or to accept an abstract in a different presentation type to what submitted.
