Current Research Project:
Patient Experiences in Advertising for an Egg Donor (Phillips, S., Matic, H., & Foster, P.)
Brief Description: This study is the first stage in a larger investigation of methods used to recruit gamete donors. The aim of the current study is to address the gap in knowledge regarding the experiences and outcomes of patients’ attempts to recruit an egg donor through advertising in a printed publication, Melbourne’s Child, and furthermore to investigate the themes that patients included in their advertisement and whether particular information could be correlated with a higher or lower response rate from potential donors.
Participants: Participants are being recruited from a Victorian publication, Melbourne’s Child. Individuals and couples who placed an advertisement for an egg donor from January 2008 until June 2009 will be invited to participate.
Status: Data has been collected for a number of months and data collection will continue until mid-2009.
