Mission Statement:
The ANZICA Research Sub-Committee comprises a core network of skilled infertility counsellors who are interested in contributing to psychosocial research in the field of infertility.
Goals:
- Provision of regular research updates for ANZICA members via the newsletter - this may include abstracts or articles of interest to members, summaries of recent study findings, and also research ‘hints and tips’ for counsellors to keep reminding us all to integrate research further into our practice
- Peer support - linking of less experienced researchers with more skilled researchers to help develop research ideas
- Support for joint or multi-centre studies to assist counsellors who work independently or within clinics that have access to only small samples
- Establishment of a formal peer-reviewed ANZICA journal that would provide members with a forum in which to publish their research (similar to the BICA Journal)
- Access to international networks, such as BICA and IICO, to reduce the expense and burden of individual clinics providing this to their counselling staff

Promotion of the value of psychosocial infertility research within the FSA and other forums to encourage clinics to better support counsellors in carrying out research projects.
